A KQED news article on California’s hydrology suggests significant ecological changes will occur due to climate change. In this case, electrical power production is likely to be effected as historic snow pack levels decrease and water events occur more spontaneously and earlier. The Bureau of Reclamation estimates that the Sierra snowpack could be reduced by half over the next ten years.
